Before you book
Australia is zoned, including a remote band
Metro zones price differently from regional and remote ones, and the remote band covers a lot of the country by area. Choose the zone at booking so the quote is the real quote. If you are unsure which zone a postcode falls in, the booking form resolves it.
Biosecurity is the strictest on any of our lanes
Australia inspects for seeds, plant matter, wood, soil and animal products more aggressively than any other destination we serve. Anything containing them can be held or destroyed at the border. Avoid handicrafts with untreated wood, spice mixes with whole seeds and anything containing dairy.
Longer transit is normal here
Australia runs longer than the UK or UAE lanes, and remote zones longer still. Build that into gift and deadline planning rather than booking against the shortest number on the page.
Sending a parcel to Australia: common questions
How long does a courier from India to Australia take?
Typically 6 to 12 days from pickup to delivery depending on the zone, subject to customs and biosecurity clearance. Metro zones sit at the shorter end of that range and remote zones at the longer end.
What cannot be sent from India to Australia?
Australian biosecurity restricts seeds, plants, untreated wood, soil, meat, dairy and many animal products. Handicrafts, spice mixes and food hampers are the categories most often affected. When in doubt, leave the item out rather than risk the whole parcel.
Do you deliver to regional and remote Australia?
Yes. Regional and remote postcodes are served and priced in their own zones, and transit runs longer than to a capital city. Select the zone at booking so the price and estimate match the destination.
How is the courier charge to Australia calculated?
On chargeable weight, which is the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight of the box. Volumetric weight is length x width x height in centimetres divided by 5000. The rate calculator applies the same brackets our operations team sees, so the figure you get before booking is the figure you pay. Indian GST of 18 percent is added on top of the freight.
Do you pick the parcel up from my address?
Yes. Book online and hand the parcel to the pickup partner at your door. Pickup covers addresses across India, and the domestic leg to our Mumbai export hub is included in the price you were quoted.
Who pays customs duty at the other end?
Duties and taxes in the destination country are set by that country's customs authority and are payable by the receiver. Delivo does not set them and cannot waive them. Your Delivo charge covers the freight, the export formalities at Mumbai and GST in India.
Can I track a shipment to Australia?
Yes. One Delivo AWB covers both the domestic leg and the international leg, so a single number follows the parcel from your door to delivery. Track it from the tracking page or from Shipments in your dashboard.
